VGL DEAD PRESIDENTS CUP

The DP Cup is an annual two team, three day, 'Presidents Cup' style tournament that takes part over the course of the VGL Season. The members from the winning team with most accumulated 'Cup Points' over the 3 days are awarded 300 VGL Leaderboard points on top of their regular round scoring on Day 3. (150pts per 9). The player from winning team with most cup points earned takes home the DP cup trophy!

Day 1 - 1 vs 1 - Executive Match Play

Day 2 - 2 vs 2 - Texas Scramble Match Play

Day 3 - 1 vs 1 - Regular VGL LB Points Scoring

Format: Two teams are created with all players that enter by snake seeding by current handicap prior to first event.  (example of snake seed 1, 23, 45, 67, 89, etc). All matchups re-seeded by handicap three days before event. 

Eligibility: Players must be a VGL member with VGL handicap.  All players are eligible to sign up for each of the events when event sign up sheet is open.  Only 8 spots per side available for each event event.

Day 1: Executive Match Play (1 vs 1)

Match play versus same seed from opposite team, gross scoring 

*1 cup point per match

Day 2: Full Course Texas Scramble Match Play (2 vs 2)

Teams of two are created by seed and put up against the same from opposite team, gross scoring 

*2 cup pts per match

Day 3: Full Course VGL Scoring (1 vs 1)

Regular VGL scoring versus same seed from opposite team, winner is player with highest Leaderboard points total, 

*1 cup pt per match

Additional Details

*any win throughout tournament results in team receiving 'cup points'

*½ points rewarded to both teams for any tie scenarios

*team with most accumulated 'cup points' after all 3 events wins

*Day 3 will also include regular VGL round scoring, cup bonus added on top for players from winning team

*players should wear their team colour to all 3 events

*player with most cup points from winning team takes home the trophy, tie break - LB points earned round 3, count of eagles+, count of birdies, count of pars

Bonus Scoring 

All players from winning team will receive 300 leaderboard points added to day 3 round scoring (150 per 9). If players play leg 1 and/or 2 but not 3, bonus points will be awarded to next VGL round.
