Match Play Bracket Series Championship

The Match Play Bracket Series is a season-long head-to-head competition that runs alongside VGL Season rounds.

Participation is open to all Active Members.

Players compete using handicaps in accordance with the VGL Rules & Scoring Manual.

Match Play matches may be completed during any eligible VGL round, allowing members flexibility in scheduling.

Each opponent may only be played once during the qualifying stage.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the top four players advance to the Match Play Finals to compete for the Match Play Bracket Series Championship.

All Match Play rounds must also be announced in the official league chat before play begins.  Whenever reasonably possible, Match Play rounds should be announced at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled tee time. This allows the Leadership Team sufficient time to  prepare and publish the official Match Play scorecard. A match play card needs to be created beforehand for a match to occur. Failure to provide adequate notice may delay the availability of the Match Play scorecard or result in the match being deemed ineligible.

Regular Season Matches

If a regular season Match Play match ends in a tie after the completion of the scheduled round, the match will be recorded as a tie. Match points will be awarded in accordance with the Competition Rules.

Win - 3 pts

Tie - 2 pts

Loss - 1 pt

Match Play Finals

The Match Play Championship Final must produce a champion.

If the Championship Final ends in a tie after the completion of the scheduled round, ties will be broken in the following order:

1. Most Eagles.

2. Most birdies. 

3. Most pars. 

4. Lowest Gross Score

Runner-up 200

Third Place 150

Fourth Place 100
